I was pretty impressed with the accuracy of this old ] 1939 [ rifle. It''s a little heavy to tote through the fields, but once of the deer stand there was no problem shouldering it and shooting. The barrel is pretty long, so working in close quarters is out of the question. The recoil is about the same as my .308 Winchester...so it''s not a kids gun, although I did one for my teenage grandson. It''s lasted this long, so I''m sure if it''s kept maintained it will continue to shoot well for another 70 yrs., and be passed down to his grandson.

this gun is like the ak-47 of world war 2. its a great gun to shoot when u pull the trigger you can expect anything but a soft click. it is a reliable peace of machinary. the russans may have political problams but they know how to make guns.
